Feedstock and Lab Manager (Energy-from-Waste)

Do you consider yourself a self-starter and want to develop a career for yourself within the Renewable Energy industry alongside an award-winning business that is going through an exciting and ambitious period of growth?
Based near Leeds this company has secured a 20-year contract for the processing of waste and the production of biogas for the national grid. They are looking for a motivated, organised individual who is capable of managing strong client relations and taking responsibility for the achievement of gas yield targets by ensuring a quality supply of feedstock to site.
In this role the Feedstock Manager will be working closely alongside the Plant Manager to provide weekly reports on things such as feedstock budgets and consumption while making sure that feedstock deliveries to site are on time and meeting the company's quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have some form of experience in process engineering or process development and will be capable of taking full responsibility for a crucial area of the business after an initial period of training. Experience in the food waste or biogas sectors is highly advantageous as is experience of feedstock management and biological sampling.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to be a part of an exciting new project within the Renewable Energy sector and for someone who wants to have a significant amount of responsibility and autonomy in their role upon completion of training.
The role:
* Maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers of feedstock and digestate
* Reporting on feedstock expenditure, consumption, quality in relation to gas yields etc.
* Undertake and manage the lab sampling process to ensure feedstocks meet quality standards
* Ensuring that enough feedstock is on site or planned for delivery to meet requirements
* Acting as single point of contact for all feedstock suppliers
The Person:
* Capable of working with little guidance while also efficient at producing reports for other managers
* A 'people person' who is confident at maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Experience of process development and constantly looking for ways to make improvements
* Previous involvement with budgets and forecasting
* Experience in the food waste or energy-from-waste sectors (desirable)
* Previous experience with feedstock supply management and/or sampling (desirable)
