Secondary LSA/ Teaching Assistant needed in Shrewsbury.

We are currently looking for an experienced LSA for a fantastic SEND school in Shrewsbury. The School has a variety of needs that students need assistance including SEMH, MLD/SLD and Challenging Behaviour from KS2 to KS5. Due to the nature of the role, it will require an awareness of Health and Safety, first aid would be beneficial to ensure a safe welcoming classroom.

All applicants must have the equivalent and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children with SEND requirements. The role will require integrating into the class and supporting the implementation of curriculum under the Teachers lead. You will be working with several other LSA’s in each classroom to assist the student effectively.

Other key elements of the position included assisting the teacher with classroom preparation, 1:1 work with students who require additional support, leading group work and helping the class teacher with pupil observations.

The right primary SEND Teaching Assistant will have the following:

•             UK LSA with 6 months experience (NQTs are encouraged to apply)

•             A Level 3 NVQ in Childcare and Education or equivalent

•             Being adaptable to all children’s learning needs

•             Being able to work as a group or one on one basis

•             Good communication skills and good classroom management
