My client in Bedford is currently recruiting for an Internal Sales Engineer to join their team on a Full Time Permanent basis.
SUMMARY:
The Internal Sales Engineer will support the internal sales/applications team in providing quotations and processing customer orders to customers all over the world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive enquiries from customers via email or telephone
Assisting customers with product specification information and appropriateness for the application.
Contract review of orders for non-standard products.
Becoming familiar with all the products offered
Contributing to new product introductions.
To assist the Internal Sales Team Leader as necessary
Assist in achieving the companys enquiry to quotation and order intake targets.
Determining prices and send quotations back to the customer using standard price lists
Checking gross margins are in line with acceptable levels
Refer any enquiries outside own levels of approval to the Internal Sales Team Leader
Process orders received by completing paperwork and passing to the Operations Department
Providing exceptional customer service to exceed customers' expectations.
Maintaining good relationships and communication with the customer to ensure they are updated throughout the order process.
Being proactive in your approach to complicated or urgent orders.
General administration duties as required.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
German speaking desired but not essential
Ability to work efficiently to deadlines
Provide our customers with a superior service in every respect, from making first contact and understanding their needs to providing quotations and information quickly
Good level of maths skills - e.g. percentage and VAT calculations
Good telephone manner
Good attention to detail
Flexible and hardworking
Smart appearance and professional attitude.
Ability to prioritise
Calm under pressure
A team player, with an efficient and proactive approach.

Minimum Education requirements
In order to be considered for this role a candidate must be able to satisfy the following requirements:
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent - Grades A-C in Maths and English
Either hold, or be working towards achieving, ONC, HNC or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
Previous experience within a manufacturing and sales environment
