Do you want to work for an industry leader in timber supply? Due to recent expansion, we are recruiting for a Timber Sales Specialist to join a leading supplier of timber products in the UK. This is a brand new full time, permanent role based in Hereford working Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (40 hours) on a generous salary of £28-35,000 per annum.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be the initial point of contact for all customers coming to site or enquiring via phone or email being reactive to their needs with the aim of converting the sale. You will provide advice and support on dry and freshly sawn timber, as well as selecting timber in the yard. You will need to have a strong level of communication to understand and interpret customer needs and requirements, ensuring stock availability and correct grading information. There is no cold calling in this role, and no targets – it is purely a reactive sales role engaging with customers that are already interested in purchasing the product.
As Timber Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining lead times and keeping customers informed working closely with Admin to ensure stock levels remain constant. In addition, you will raise purchase orders and will support the Timber Coordinator in preparing timber for orders, communicating volumes and grading timber accordingly.
We are keen to speak with sales professionals with any experience in the timber industry, with a proven track record in converting enquiring into sales orders. You will need to have an approachable and problem-solving attitude with enthusiasm and the ability to demonstrate high quality customer care. A good level of IT will be required, in particular Excel. Candidates with a background in joinery, construction, or agriculture will also be considered.
