Job Details

You be responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery, ancillary equipment, mobile plant and additionally helping servicing company vehicles. This will involve the repair and maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faults.
Good working knowledge and experience of mechanical and electrical engineering including PLC fault-finding and rectification experience
Knowledge and experience of machining/manufacturing bespoke engineering products
Ability to think creatively and provide engineering solutions for customers
Experience of managing technician and running an engineering workshop
Good experience of reading/working to CAD drawings plus at least basic knowledge of putting together a simple 2D CAD drawing
Continuous improvement project involvement (maximising equipment utilisation and availability to support manufacturing activities; leading projects to support activities to improve efficiency, yield and recycling opportunities).
Good communicator (able to effectively liaise with Sales and Production personnel and with machinist/maintenance technician)
You will be key to cost saving and process optimisation in the business and will have significant saving targets to achieve and ensure maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically.
Ensure that all defect reporting and pro-active checks are noted within the Planned Preventative Maintenance System is effective and followed through to completion promptly.
triving to optimise performance, utilisation and machine availability.
The role will be a wide ranging maintenance role, possibly in a supervisory capacity for the right candidate.
Our client is looking for someone who is practical and hands on, able to read engineering drawings as well as having some experience of managing a maintenance team/engineering workshop.
CAD drawing experience would be desirable though not essential.

It is expected that this role will succeed the maintenance manager who is approaching retirement.

Hands on training and guidance will be provided as well as knowledge of our bespoke processes and products.

It is expected that approx. 40% of the person's time would be spent managing the engineering workshop, and approx. 60% on supporting maintenance and production activities.

Salary: £25-35k pa (dependent on skills and experience) plus benefits.

Working hours: 40 hours/week (08:00-16:30 Mon-Fri) plus flexibility to work weekends and before/after work days to support production and carry out maintenance activities.
