Transport Manager

Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? If so, we are looking for a Transport Manager who can join our team permanently in Wisbech, PE13 2RN.

Your pay rate as a Transport Manager will be between £50,000 to £57,000 per annum

Day to day:

We are looking for a Transport Manager to manage the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organisation. This includes managing budgets, organising schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.

Your responsibilities:

Ensure that all in house vehicles are compliant with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, and where necessary escalating any identified issues making recommending resolutions
Manage and develop a team of drivers and transport assistants, who may be working remotely, either alone or in small teams, in order to deliver a high quality service to customers.
Responsible for organising and overseeing all health and safety checks and routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements
Be aware of all transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance and ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with UK and European Union laws and regulations, particularly relating to health and safety.
Negotiating and managing third party contracts and developing new business opportunities whenever possible.
Take the lead role in planning, costing and allocating routes and vehicles ensuring sufficient flexibility is in place to meet the varying and changing needs of customers.Typical hours as a Transport Manager:

Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 17:00pm but flexibility is required

Our ideal candidate as a Transport Manager:

Experience in a similar managerial role in the transport sector, including supervision of staff
Holder of Transport Manager CPC
LGV Class 1 drivers' licence to drive in the UK and CPC driver card
