Based in Hatfield Hertfordshire

Our client has designed and manufactured electronic medical hearing testing instruments for sale to hospitals/private clinical and military facilities around the world for over 30 years. 

As the Configuration Operative, you will be a part of the logistics team carrying out quality tests and inspection on a range of products and then configuring to order specification. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the high standards by following detailed work instructions and orders are ready for shipment within specified time.   

This role is an excellent opportunity to play an important role within the logistic team.  The role will ideally suit a candidate that has strong attention to detail, works effectively and efficiently, a self-starter with extensively experienced in following work instructions.  You will need a good understanding and appreciation of Quality assurance, keeping accurate documentation and able to deliver good quality product every time.  The role will also provide a variety of other supporting tests for the right candidate providing opportunity to grow within the company, including Store duties, electronic assembly inspection, in-depth product testing. Training will be provided. 

Your Responsibility 

Maintain quality control within the Configuration Department. 

Follow departmental procedures and Work Instructions. 

Maintenance of Configuration stock. 

Maintain accurate documentation and up to date filing. 

Ensure timely and accurate availability of ready to ship goods to the Shipping Department. 

Remain current and familiar with Work Instructions and QA processes as they relate to the Configuration Department. 



Your Skills & Experience 

Proven ability to quickly understand and follow work instructions and procedures. 

Be adaptable, flexible, and work as part of a team. 

Experience working within a quality managed system. 

Must be familiar with using digital multi-meter, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other common electronics lab equipment, and able to demonstrate accuracy in handling data. 

Previous experience of working to KPIs, and the ability to work under pressure is essential to this role. 

PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word. 

Proven analytical and practical approach to solving problems with capability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise. 

Awareness of the stock control function issuing serial and batch part records using FIFO. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills 

Desirable but not essential a background in product testing
