Refurbishment Operations Manager
Aldershot
Up to £60,000 + Bens
My client is a market leading refurbishment contractor who operate across the residential and commercial sectors and pride themselves on their reputation for quality workmanship.
Due to continued growth they are searching for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team covering projects in the Thames Valley area.
This role would suit someone who has experience of managing a variety of previous contracts successfully and having knowledge of the requirements for Operational and Commercial management roles within a Branch.
Role
Affect and consistently deliver a profitable branch
Ensure work is delivered safely, to the required quality & on time
Take responsibility for all work delivered within your Branch
Create and lead a high performing team
Ensure customer promises are achieved and relationships are developed
Achieve financial branch targets
Protect the company from financial or other loss
Manage the local team and resolve personnel issues with the assistance
of the national team
Ensure compliance with group process
Develop the local team to ensure compliance and to meet the future
needs of the business
Develop and grow the local business in line with the company
objectives and strategy
Promote the values of the company at all opportunities
Specific duties and responsibilities of the role
Ensure a safe working environment for employees and safe systems are adhered to
Maintaining close liaison with our H&SE team on performance and audit results
Understand local customers needs to maximise relationships and develop further works
Take the lead on multi branch contracts where the geography or skill set of the branch is
best placed to meet the clients needs
Maintain capability/capacity to deliver to meet customers needs
Lead and motivate operational, commercial and support staff
Review resources and ensure they are effectively allocated to meet programmes
Lead recruitment, induction, performance management and development of:
o Operations management/supervision staff
o Commercial staff
o Office management and administration staff
Guidance and assistance with day-to-day management of CECs and Sales staff
Ensure effective and efficient mobilisation of new contracts takes place including targets
at detail and summary levels, from operative to contract manager
Develop a subcontract supply chain to support contract delivery
Ensure effective site reporting takes place and constructive Branch meetings are held
Ensure work is delivered to achieve budgeted gross margin
Complete a monthly contract portfolio report for review
Report financial and non-financial performance of Branches monthly
Monitor cost allocations within the Branch to ensure correct control measures are in place
and cost are alloacted correctly and in a timely fashion
Manage invoicing disciplines within the Branch to achieve company debtor day targets
Regularly check and audit purchases, timesheets to deter fraudulent practices and control
valuation of WIP to avoid over valuation
Propose and deliver annual forecast in conjunction with the Business Development Team
Work with Business Development Manager to identify and develop new business
opportunities, contribute to pre-tender submissions, review tender pricing levels and
deliver supporting documents and presentations
Make resource available to assist commercial team with compilation of tenders,

Professional industry Standard or equivalent
CMI L5 Certificate Management & Leadership
Pitman Excel - Advanced Users
CSCS card - Manager / Professionally qualified person
Completion of iHASCO defined mandatory training modules
