All Hallows is a 26 bedded unit for men and women situated in the historic village of Ditchingham on the Suffolk/Norfolk border and sits in an acre of beautiful gardens. The centre supports individuals with complex healthcare needs associated with a neurological condition, including acquired brain injury (stroke, trauma, tumour, encephalitis, aneurysm, haemorrhage) or a progressive neurological condition, for example Huntington’s Disease or Parkinson’s Disease. Treatment is offered in a comfortable setting with access to modern equipment and facilities including physiotherapy gym, occupational therapy training kitchen and wheelchair accessible sensory garden. There is also ample space for quiet reflection, socialising and family visits.

Key Element - Staff Leadership and Management

Provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team, in the achievement of the company’s objectives and priorities. The organisation’s success will be dependent on all managers playing an active role to make sure the existing areas of good employment practice are universally embedded within the organisation. Deputy Manager’s will be expected to:

* To act up in the absence of the registered manager as requested

* Ensure clarity and effectiveness in developing and designing roles

* Promote an effective team ethos

* Complete annual appraisals and regular supervision for all staff which reflect these priorities

* Ensure staff have access to appropriate training and development

* Communicate regularly through meetings with teams and individuals

* Provide opportunity for two-way feedback

* Value and treat your team equally

* Ensure management of staff is consistent with the Company’s HR Policies to the achievement of equality, equity and optimum performance

Key Role and Responsibilities

* Promote and ensure the good reputation of the service. To act as a positive role model, maintaining professionalism and to demonstrate a positive attitude to service users, their families, visitors and others

* To participate in the delivery of the service which takes into account all of the day to day operational requirements and also quality measurements and monitoring

* To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care planning & risk assessment/risk management safety plans on a monthly basis with service users on admission and at appropriate intervals, providing support to service users with daily living, following support plans and working within the model of care

* To lead and participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, offer regular supervision to all staff, manage the staff time efficiently through staff rota management, annual leave and monitor the quality of service delivery

* Management, review and audits of all care and service documentation, ensuring the monthly operational monitoring is completed in a timely manner and sent promptly to the Registered Manager

* Report and document any incidents and escalate in line with incident reporting procedure

* Actively participate in reviewing and learning from incidents at the service

* Be aware of and work within Safeguarding Adults policies, ensuring the team understand their role and responsibility and are able to recognise the signs of abuse and are able report and document concerns within the time frame

* To work confidently and to contribute to the rehabilitation pathway by working collaboratively with colleagues, external partners and developing and maintaining professional working relationships

* By means of Risk Assessment ensure that potential hazards and vulnerability is assessed and plans for managing any identified risks are documented and reviewed regularly

* To have a good knowledge and understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000 and to ensure compliance with internal and external standards:

* Meeting all regulatory requirements

* CareTech Policies and Procedures

* CQC Regulations

* Ensure that all staff follow legislative and statutory requirements, e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act, Food Hygiene etc.
