Buyer (Manufacturing)
Bridgwater, Somerset
£30,000 to £35,000 dependant on experience + Pension Contributions.
Experienced buyer sought within a successful manufacturer within the electrical/electronic industry offering autonomy to drive improvements and challenge norms in lone with a continuous improvements culture.
This will be suited to experienced buyers from ANY technical or engineered product background in a buying/procurement capacity. Any exposure to electronic component manufacture will be advantageous. You will be more biased towards the strategic end of the procurement function as opposed to the more transactional side. Key to the role and its ongoing development within the team will be the confidence and ability to challenge design and production departments on omissions and errors in planning through BOM's and orders raised for production parts and materials, to look at process improvements and work with relevant teams to implement. Introduce cost savings through more streamlined practices and through the sourcing of more efficient suppliers to the business for all material and service needs in the longer term.
The role will be heavily focused around building strong relationships and influencing positive change and controlling processes to improve the Supply Chain flow through the business. Problem resolution in a collaborative sense with all departments involved will be key to the success of the incumbent of this role.

The Person Required:
* Experienced Buyer/Procurement professional from any technical, engineering or manufacturing background.
* Exposure to electronics or AS9100 accredited environments advantageous but not essential.
* A highly confident communicator with the confidence to challenge norms, drive improvements and from positive relationships to gain commitment to improvements to processes across all departments.
* Ability to manage the strategic side of the procurement function in the sourcing of better suppliers and service level agreements, challenging BOM's to maintain full cost efficiencies, driving supplier based cost savings and improving quality deliverables
