Salary: Between £22,000 - £27,000
Our client, an engineering contractor, based in Middlesbrough is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to provide accurate financial information and undertake a full range of finance related duties.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of management accounting process, strong MS office skills, knowledge of Core Financial Systems, excellent communication skills at all levels, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
o Analysis & reporting against the NPg contracts providing commercial support to operations in terms of project analysis / dispute for a workstream anticipated to deliver in excess of £9m revenue in 2021.
o Analysis and enhancement of charging for restoration work.
o Overtime analysis / reporting - project scope to analyse working hours / overtime claims.
o Productivity reporting, timesheet analysis.
o Support Scotland operations, particularly reclaiming VAT on POC charges.
o WIP HVCS / added value analysis for HVCS.
o Assisting operations with key customer analysis and reports.
o Assist with corporate plan production.
o Cash management reporting to Treasury.
o IUS Ireland financial reporting including regulatory/legislative obligations.
o Production of regulatory reporting pack alongside monthly reconciliations Management reporting to both senior and contract managers.
o Cost variance analysis (operating/direct). Assist with external audit as directed.
o Complete monthly WIP reconciliation Business and financial reports.
o Prepare month end accruals and reconciliations.
o Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Assistant Finance Manager.
Qualifications & Attributes
o A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent (Maths & English essential)
o AAT / CIMA membership is essential
o Part Qualified /qualified for Professional Accounting body is desirable
o Financial background would be desirable
The role is full time, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm (37 hours) and would be based at their Middlesbrough office.
