Laboratory Technician
Ledbury
Permanent, Full time position
£10.00 per hour + Monday to Friday 7:30 - 5:00 (you may be required to start earlier or finish later if needed, weekend work may be required during peak season) + pension plan + 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + pension scheme + onsite parking.
Laboratory Technician sought within a Ledbury based production company for the FMCG industry sector producing for well-known consumer brands. You will be joining a small-knit team and you will have a willingness to learn and have a genuine interest in the food production sector.
The role will be suited to an individual ideally educated to RFQ Level 3 in a food science/technology or science discipline. Alternatively, an individual with previous experience in a food/drink manufacturing technical environment. This position would also suit any applicant who has a genuine interest in food production and who is keen and willing to learn with good attention to detail and communication skills.
The core function of the role will be carrying out quality analysis within on-site test laboratory, compiling, analysing, and interpreting results. You will form part of the technical team, approving and releasing forward for production, undertaking raw material quality checks, and assisting with accurate completion of documents and record keeping.
The Role in Brief:
*Carrying out quality analysis within on-site test laboratory, compiling, analysing, and interpreting results
*Approve and release forward for production
*Equipment testing and calibrations
*Raw material quality checks
*Assisting with accurate completion of documents and record keeping
*Working closely with the Technical department to create and maintain up to date, clear internal specifications, and associated work instructions
*Internal auditing/checks
*Member of HACCP team
*Provide administrative support to the Technical team
*General cleaning and hygiene of the Lab
The Person Required:
*Team player
*Desire to learn and to take responsibility of their own work
*High level of attention to detail
*Good communication skills
*Has the ability to work within a small team and individually
*IT literate, including MS Office
*Have experience working in a past paced environment
*Ideally educated to RFQ Level 3 in a food science/technology or science discipline
*Ideally have previous experience in a food/drink manufacturing technical environment
