Education, Health and Care Manager – (PSTE)

40 hours per week 52 weeks per year

Salary Range: £33,524-£36,282

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Education, Health and Care Manager to join us at Freeman College which is based in Sheffield and has multiple sites in the city centre.

The purpose of the role is to ensure each student benefits from Ruskin Mill Trust’s Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) and receives the training and support they need to fulfil the outcomes identified in their

Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).  Within this role, you would have the opportunity to

  • understand and advocate for each caseload student, coordinating their overall programme at college
  • be the main point of contact in relation to all relevant individual and agencies, both internal and external
  • ensure consistent and effective liaison with all external agencies and stakeholders of each caseload student
  • support the overall management of the college

The post holder will be expected to embrace, articulate and work with the Trust’s ethos, informed by Steiner education, which is maintained, implemented and integrated within the therapeutic provision within the College. To undertake this position successfully you will have

  • a sound understanding of all legal and regulatory requirements and frameworks
  • excellent administrative, report writing, logistical, social and communication skills
  • the ability to work flexibly as required including evenings, weekends and the college holidays
  • a willingness to travel between college’s and RMT’s various sites as required
  • a sound understanding of a wide range of possible diagnoses challenges of students such as autism, attachment difficulties, ADHD, epilepsy, learning difficulties as well as mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia as well as substance dependencies

The successful applicant will take part in an interactive induction to experience the crafts that are part of the curriculum, and the student journey.
