Castle Education are looking to recruit experienced Exam Invigilators in the York area to support local Schools and Colleges. This will be on a casual basis with their peak exam periods during the last months of the term.
Duties include;
Supervising students taking examinations
Preparing the examination rooms
Distributing examination materials, including question papers and answer booklets, before the start of the examination and collecting them in at the end
Notifying the Examinations Officer if a candidate is absent or late for an examination
Supervising candidates during examinations to ensure that silence is maintained and that in all respects the examinations are conducted in accordance with the examining board's rules and regulations
Overseeing the start and end of the examinations, including giving time reminders to candidates, and ensuring that extra-time candidates receive the correct time allowance
Keeping exam papers in secure conditions at the end of each exam until they are passed to the Examinations Officer
Supporting learners with exam concessions in the role of a scribe or reader
The ideal applicant will be highly organised, vigilant and reliable, have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to remain calm under pressure
We are particularly interested in local applicants with an education or classroom-based background who are available to work most days of the week (Monday-Friday) and have the flexibility to be called in at short notice
Experience as a Scribe or a Reader is desirable
All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo one.
