Job Details

Our client is looking for a process operator based in Hitchin/Letchworth, Hertfordshire. This is a temp to perm role available immediately for the right candidate so please do not delay in applying!

Manufacturing Process Operator

The company is seeking an experienced Process Operator that has solid experience of working within a GMP or food processing environment to high standards of quality compliance and safety.

Operating as part of a multi-skilled team, the Process Operator is primarily responsible for the extraction of plant materials, concentration of extraction liquors and liquid/semi-solid processes according to the companys standard operating procedures.

1. Working alone or as a part of a small team to undertake production schedules within the manufacturing facilities

2. Record details of process jobs on batch manufacturing records.

3. Inputting of jobs and material movements on SAGE (materials & financial management system).

4. Team leadership skills, an ability to step into the role of the Team Leader as required during holidays or absence

5. Carry out basic in process testing such as pH or Brix measurement

6. Close liaison with packaging/warehouse team and extraction team to ensure a smooth flow of material.

7. Cleaning of process equipment and work areas and assistance with site maintenance.

8. To undertake work in other functions within the unit which may be deemed necessary on a day to day basis.

9. Take part in or occasionally lead deviation investigations

10. Sufficient technical writing skills to be able to author manufacturing SOPs

11. To observe safe working practices and to work at all times in line with the requirements of Health and Safety regulations.

Skills Profile:

Good knowledge of GMP requirements in either or both of a pharmaceutical or food & drink manufacturing environment.

Ideally a broad understanding of primary manufacturing processing activities such as material extraction, evaporation, liquids manufacturing, filling and packaging

Person Profile:

· Proven willingness to take on responsibility for completing jobs on time in line with quality specification.

· Aptitude for working with computers and IT systems

· Flexible and responsive

· Able to work to written instructions with minimal supervision

· Candidates who are self-motivated and have experience of working within a Quality System covering areas including deviation investigation, production schedule organisation and authoring standard operating procedures will be preferred.

· The role is shift based (6-2, 2-10 typical or a variation of these between the same hours) but will also require a degree of flexibility and overtime due to the nature of the production processes
