This is temp to perm position

You will be responsible and accountable for, the effective and efficient co-ordination of refuse, recycling, streets, grounds and HWRC operations. You will supervise and drive cost effective teams and operations, providing collection services to a high standard and to carry out any other duties which may be required, which could from time to time include working from another depot.

Responsibilities

· Supervise and assess personal targets of appropriate staff ensuring the contract specifications are met in full, included driving down the numbers of missed collections and missed assisted collections.

· To manage all resources to ensure 'best use practice'

· To work actively towards maintaining a professional relationship with client / council staff, communicating data and information with clarity, accuracy, honesty and within timescales of 24 hours

· To plan and organise team and operative work processes to deliver services on budget to specified standards.

· To assist in meeting budget objectives by closely and continuously following income and expenditure items and maintaining effective cost management controls,

· To participate in the use of database systems for operational services.

· Ensure the accurate compilation and submission of payroll data within set timescales by means of daily worksheets. etc., including agency hours worked and updating and authorising on the payroll systems all relevant details.

· To ensure the workforce are always wearing corporate and protective clothing.

· To monitor compliance with transport legislation and good practice in relation to drivers' daily checks, defect reporting. Etc.

· Ensure that transport used is in compliance with '0' license and traffic regulations.

· Ensure that all drivers maintain their driving licenses and that an up-to-date record of them are kept.

· Ensure that all documentation relating to the operational use of the transport is accurately maintained and properly processed.

· Regularly and continuously appraise staff in terms of training and development needs, carrying out a full appraisal.

Essential skills and experience:

· LGV licence with previous experience of managing people and transport.

· Ideal candidate will have previous experience within the waste industry and possess his CPC and IOSH qualification.

· Good time keeping and communication skills

· Good organisational skills

· Flexibility and willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation

· The ability to follow detailed planning and instruction
