Our Client, prestigious British fashion brand are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their expanding team at their site in Jarrow
The Role
Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and despatch of orders in a timely and efficient manner to achieve your team objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Shift Manager.
Achieve World Class Service to all customers through the despatching of goods.
Determine staffing levels and assign workload. Deploy staff to other departments within the warehouse so priorities are met.
Communicate clear precise instructions and job expectations to all warehouse operatives on shift.
Monitor sickness and absence levels on a daily/weekly basis, ensuring all Return to Work paperwork is completed in a timely manner and passed over to Shift Manager for review.
Document all stock movements on a shift basis, through conventional paperwork and in-house date base system/mobility.
Where required carry out investigations and deal with conduct/disciplinary issues with the authority to issue up to first written warning level.
Undertakes performance appraisals and proactively deal with performance issues including the provision of training to address shortfalls in performance.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of new starters during the 3 month probationary period – completing the probationary review form deciding whether the new starter has passed, failed or the probationary period needs to be extended
Shift reporting of progress to Shift Manager and Warehouse Manager.The Person
Must have experience working in a retail related warehouse (at least at supervisory level)
Experience of working and happy to work with an organisation who has peak period and therefore working to challenging deadlines
Experience of managing/supervising a team of at least 20 people

The Hours
You will be working on a 2 shift system rotating weekly
Shift pattern Week one: 7.00am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday
Shift pattern Week two: 2.15pm – 10.15pm Monday to Thursday
12.00pm – 8.00pm Friday (a temporary early finish is currently in operation; this may revert back to 2.15pm – 9pm)
Salary
£26,000 (negotiable for the right person)
