Salary:  Level 3 £15,165 year 1 to Level 3 £16,176 year 2

Location – Service Headquarters, Calcot, Reading

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and aspirational individual to kick start a career in a Business Administration apprenticeship role, this apprenticeship will provide a great foundation for someone wanting to enter the world of Business Support and the initial qualification will be Level 3: QCF Diploma in Business and Administration.

As the Business Support Apprentice, you will be responsible for providing proactive and customer focused administrative support as part of the Business Support Team.

Within this role you will be expected to be responsive to the needs of the business support function and those it supports across the organisation. In addition to providing responsive support, you will be assigned specific areas of responsibility which will include a range of duties including document management, support for events and visits as well as systems and database management.

The successful candidate will be inspired to demonstrate and promote behaviours in line with the Job Profile and our Behaviour Competency Framework as attached.  Specifically we are seeking individuals who will provide excellent customer satisfaction to all RBFRS customers, resolve enquires quickly, courteously and with good attention to detail.

The key focus of this role is:

  • To take responsibility for specified areas of administrative business support and develop and maintain an understanding of those areas, and any associated systems.
  • To support the organisation and successful delivery of specific projects, events and visits as required.
  • To undertake systems based work through data entry, data interrogation and data assurance.
  • To deal efficiently and courteously to all queries and correspondence both written and verbal from a wide range of internal and external customers and to promote a strong customer focus within the team and the organisation as a whole.

Key role requirements are:

  • To have the ability to develop positive relationships with a broad range of individuals, organisations and members of the public.
  • To have excellent self-management, planning and organisational skills to work on own initiative, make decisions to manage own workload, achieve deadlines and meet customer requirements
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to maintain spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to co-ordinate and successfully manage a wide range of tasks and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility in approach to tasks
