Finance Assistant

You will join a small finance team that manages a group of SMEs with a global footprint (UK, EU, China, and US). We are looking for someone who is highly organised with a "can do attitude" and willingness to learn.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience and make a difference, in an environment that combines the best of both worlds - working with a small group of SMEs within a successful FTSE 100 group.

You will be a key member of the finance team, assisting the Financial Controller with any admin and finance tasks required by the business and delivering excellent internal service to all regions/departments.

The role will suit someone with a great willingness to learn and adapt to business needs. Full training will be provided.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for creating and amending master data for customers and vendors in different ERPs for all group regions ensuring required documentation is kept to meet audit requirements.
Raise ad-hoc invoices and credit notes.
Send statements and invoices to customers.
Business Partnering with the Global Finance team and other departments, acting as an enabler to get things done.
Chasing outstanding debts from customers, in line with agreed payment terms.
Investigate and resolve customer queries.
Take credit card payments from customers.
Contact vendors to request statements and check them against our records. Be proactive and resolve any account discrepancies when required.
Assist the finance teams with internal and external audit requirements.
Carry out credit and sanctions searches on customers and suppliers.
Reconcile credit card expense submissions against receipts.
Post bank payments and receipts to different ERPs.
Deputising for and supporting the other team members as required.
Data input on different spreadsheets and databases, as well as other ad hoc tasks as required by the business.

Key attributes:

Highly organised with a "can do approach" and the ability to prioritise and multi-task due to high volumes of work and tight deadlines.
A confident communicator able to build relationships with customers and suppliers, delivering a high level of customer service.
Ability and desire to work independently and take initiative, driving process improvements and delivering innovative and practical solutions to meet the needs of a growing business.
Good IT, data and ERP skills.
Accounting knowledge or previous experience in a finance role will be an advantage, but not essential.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn are key to this role.
Dutch speaking will be an advantage, but not essential.
