Stores Manager

An excellent opportunity for an individual with experience working in a fast moving stores environment to join a FMCG leader who supply their products globally based at a modern facility in Derrylin, Northern Ireland.

The role reports into the Purchasing Manager within the Derrylin Procurement team. To maintain the smooth operation of a fast-moving stores environment establishing systems to control materials and spares to support a 24/7 operational plant.

Qualities we look for;

Experience of SAP Material Management or a similar MRP system.
Experience of leading a team (preferred).
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and dealing with engineering and operations teams
Ability to plan and flex to suit business needs
Ability to add value and make business improvements
Familiarity with imports requirements (preferred)
Knowledge and experience of working with SAP Material Management or a similar MRP system.
A solid working knowledge of MS Office packages in particular Excel

Responsibilities;

Supervise the stores team and manage day to day stores operations
Organisation of stores staff to complete daily/weekly and monthly targets.
Attend meetings and issue reports as required
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and despatch of goods, ensuring all company processes in relation to checks and documentation have been accurately completed.
Ensure all Customs Clearance for importation of spares are completed in a timely manner and all paperwork in relation to Customs Clearance is available/traceable for auditable purposes.
To ensure all company and departmental policies and procedures are always adhered to
Lead follow up and resolve any customer concerns, by identification of errors and root cause to ensure corrective and preventative action and eliminate repeat issues
Ordering and control of materials using SAP
Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by conducting regular stock checks in line KPI's ensuring physical stock is in line with the SAP Material Management System and ensure all stock movements in and out are recorded correctly and in a timely manner to ensure accuracy
Arrange logistics for all intercompany transfers and all goods leaving site for refurbishment, overhauls and repairs
Development of the stores team to ensure the skill levels and proficiency of each individual achieves the required standard to enable the operation to run efficiently and effectively and thus providing a quality service to the business.
Manage team members in terms of attendance, discipline and performance
Collaboration with internal/ external customer to meet current needs and explore opportunities for continuous improvement of the store's facility
Actively promote a healthy safety culture adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team
Ensure all risk assessments and method statements are adhered to and updated to reflect any changes in the tasks covered
Plan, manage and adjust team members activities to meet daily operational requirements within the stores
To provide a safe and clean working environment for the team to work in
Carry out regular audits and encourage team members to apply the clean as you go policy
Responsible for day-to-day management of people within the stores - to ensure the flow of materials is undertaken in a controlled and timely manner.
Achieving the required stock and security controls by setting standards of performance and implementing measuring processes to ensure the stores operation is aligned with business standards and industry best practice.
Also, to ensure staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.
Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvements within the stores.
Responsible to ensure all imports are receipted to agreed timelines and all Standard Operating Procedures for Imports are adhered to.
