Job Details

We are currently recruiting a Laboratory Analyst Assistant for a global Food & Beverage company based in Leicester.

Offering a pay rate of £10.60-£14.00 per hour based on a experience, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

This is a temporary contract, estimate to last approximately 7 months with the potential to be extended.

Key Responsibilities

Unpacking and booking in samples for analytical testing
Sample preparation
Perform accurate analysis and reporting of analytical samples in compliance with the client global procedures and standards
Complete relevant method and instrument quality checks as required
Responsibilities with regards to equipment calibration and maintenance schedule for the lab on instruments associated with relevant analyses
Troubleshoot technical issues relating to lab analysis, carrying out sample maintenance as required. Arrange service visits for relevant equipment when necessary
Complete relevant tasks within in the lab to ensure it is a clean and safe working environment
Ensure that all required stock is managed and ordered in a timely manner to enable smooth flow of workload
Work with the team and Lab Manager to ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems, as well as ISO17025 requirements and accreditation body requirements
Participate and demonstrate competency in proficiency testing schemes and ensure adequate follow up to the results recovered
Demonstrate adherence to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practise policies and procedures.
Support specific lab activities such as COSHH assessments, permit writers and others as needed

Experience and Qualifications

Relevant Science Degree (BSc)
Good understanding of knowledge of GLP / laboratory quality standards (e.g. ISO17025)
Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable.
Strives for high standards, seeks innovative solutions, and demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail.
Good technical, communication & analytical skills.
