Part-Time HR Business Partner (3 days per week, actual working days are flexible)
Watford, Hertfordshire

It’s a really exciting time to join our HR Team at Watford as we transition from the pandemic and working from home, to a hybrid of home and office working for our employees. We are all adapting to these new ways of working, and the pace of change, coupled with the ambitious projects we have underway, provide a stimulating and challenging agenda where HR’s role will be critical in driving this through in line with our values & behaviours. Although you will be employed by Watford, you will also provide HR services to Three Rivers District Council through a ‘Lead Authority’ model.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced HR practitioner who can provide a full range of generalist HR support to their specified service areas. This will range from strategic advice through to operational and everything in between, according to the service needs. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to build good working relationships with the service you support, in order to understand the business needs and add real value with the advice you provide. You will also be comfortable with case work, having undertaken investigations and providing HR support to senior managers in a previous role.

As well as providing advice and guidance, we have a range of projects we are delivering, which include:

- Our Employee Benefits offering to both Councils.
- Mental Health and Wellbeing where you will be the lead for the HR team across both Councils
- Lead HR Business Partner for one of our external fee paying clients.
- Policy reviews as and when required.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is creative and innovative, can bring best practice approaches into the Council, translating complex situations into practical solutions, work as a team player and be flexible. Expectations are high but then so are the rewards in terms of professional opportunity and achievement, in a great environment, along with the ability to work with and influence senior management.

To be the successful candidate, you will have significant experience working at HR Business Partner level or equivalent. You will have technical HR knowledge that you can draw upon and also experience of delivering projects. The work will involve running multiple work streams simultaneously and deadlines will be tight.

You will also, from time to time, be asked to support the operational HRBP work that will be taking place alongside you.

What we offer:-

Salary Band 9 (£43,719 - £47,743 inclusive of fringe allowance and depending on experience) pro rata

We offer an excellent benefits package, including competitive salary, 28 days’ holiday pro rata - rising to 33 days, a generous employer contribution pension scheme, flexible working, career development, season ticket loan, cycle-to-work scheme, discounted leisure centre membership, employee volunteering schemes and access to Edenred branded shopping discounts platform, and discounted activities and days out.

A basic DBS check will be carried out for this post.

The closing date for applications is 31st May 2021.
