Job Title: Transport Planner
Locations: Bristol
Salary: Up to £35,000 + Benefits
Hours: 10 hours shift/12 hours shifts - Days Mon-Sun

My client is a family-owned and run a friendly and hard-working company offering transport, logistics and maintenance services to manufacturers, distributors, and online retailers, throughout the UK. A proud member of the Pallex Network and work alongside the largest online retailer in the UK.
Due to unprecedented growth, they are increasing the number of vehicles and drivers within their fleet, to provide increased service and support to our Blue-Chip partners. They are growing the management-team in Avonmouth to support continued business-growth.
Job Description:
The role of the Transport Planner & Co-Coordinator is a newly formed and key-role within the organisation.
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and executing out and back loads to ensure that vehicles are utilised to maximum effect, complimenting existing work and contracts, as well as ensuring that loads are fulfilled on-time.
The role requires strong people-management and organisational skills; combined with an ability to problem-solve and think on one's-feet to ensure that the above objectives are met.
Previous experience in such a role is essential.
Essential Skills Required:
Must have Haulage Planning Experience
Excellent computer and IT skills.
Demonstrable people skills and an approachable manner, whilst at the same time demonstrate assertiveness to ensure goals are reached.
A strong work ethic.
Ability to quickly make decisions and solve problems under own initiative.
An excellent knowledge of Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive.
Ability to manage and coach new and existing drivers and team members.
Excellent attention to detail.
Give strong instruction and monitor the performance of drivers through briefing & de-briefing.
Excellent administration skills, ensuring that paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
The successful applicant will be required to work a ten to twelve-hour shift, depending upon workload, Monday to Friday, with weekend standby required on occasion
