Proman is working with a leading plastics manufacturing business to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger to join their successful team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to progress and grow within an expanding team.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, manage delivery performance of suppliers and support all day-to-day department activity. You will also be responsible for conducting regular price comparisons to ensure cost effectiveness is maintained and that the company is always getting the best value for each product/service that is purchased. 

The successful Purchase Ledger will have the following responsibilities:

Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
Forecast demand for long lead time items to calculate reorder quantities and provide key suppliers with regular updated forecast information.
Creation and updating of purchase orders.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
Ensuring suppliers are delivering to agreed timescales.
Update internal stakeholders by proactively updating the MRP System with order detail changes (dates, quantities, etc)
Expediting all deliveries to ensure OTIF targets are achieved.
Dealing with general queries on product and pricing
Complete administrative tasks required for effective operation of the Purchasing Department.
Managing stock and materials to ensure efficient delivery of products to customers.
Managing and reviewing minimum stock levels
Maintain supplier records (contact details, terms, price list and discounts) in line with GDPR legislation.
Liaising with and maintaining strong working relationships with key external suppliers
Dealing with internal queries from colleagues and providing regular updates on changes
Working on existing accounts and potential new accounts to make sure best price and terms and conditions are achieved.
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in a timely manner and in good condition.
Communicate all delivery discrepancies to suppliers and follow through to resolution.
Liaise with Accounts to resolve invoice queries.
Some travel may be required for Supplier Visits
Skills/Experience:

Use of MRP systems
Forecasting or scheduling experience
Excellent communication skills
Able to prioritize workloads
MS Office including Excel
2 years’ experience in a purchasing role
Manufacturing experience
