Deputy Manager - Childrens Home, Near Faversham, Kent.
An exciting opportunity for a Deputy Children's Home Manager has arisen for a Children's Home in the Swale area.
We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent leadership skills, someone who has a desire to make a difference to help young people develop skills to support and fulfil their life's ambitions.
The successful candidate will support the aims and objectives of the home and assist the Manager in the organisation of a high quality care for Children and Young people.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Protect the children and young people in your care.
Manage the home through procedures, policies and activities engaged in to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for the child or young person you are responsible for.
Ensuring key stages in the stay of the child or young person such as admissions, discharge, transfers are properly managed and recorded.
Ensure staff dealing with complex cases are given support and advice.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with social workers, teaching staff and other professionals from associated agencies engaged in childcare.
Provide leadership and guidance to assist in the development of staff.
To be involved in the monitoring, appraisal and disciplining of staff as necessaryRequirements
Level 3 children and young people or equivalent
At least 2 years' experience in a children's home.
NVQ/QCF level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification (or working towards )
Good understanding of Ofsted regulations.
Up to date Knowledge of childcare and child protection laws.A competitive salary if offered up to £25,000. plus sleeps and overtime.
