Waking Nights Support Worker

Salary Range: £19,407.36-£20,453.79.

 

We are looking for a caring person, (as a result of the service user’s care needs we have a genuine occupational requirement to recruit a male for this role) with great character to join our team of Support Workers.  Our fantastic team supports a number of residents with learning difficulties in a home life setting in the centre of Sheffield.  You will have responsibility for promoting and ensuring the safety, care, well-being, learning, and development of the residents, to enable their growth in confidence and social and practical skills.

 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ideally, be an experienced support worker who has worked in a residential setting and worked with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Supervise and support service users in their residential settings with a range of domestic activities such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry
  • At night supervise service users, including behaviour management, personal care, medication, handling, and carrying out household tasks when residents are sleeping
  • Be willing to work evenings and weekends as this is an essential requirement of the role. This will be on a shift basis
  • Have excellent communication skills, as well as experience in report writing and record keeping
