Contract Type: Permanent

Role: Credit Controller (senior)

Working Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm (1 hr lunch)

Salary: £22k

Location: Dudley - Temporarily working remotely

To maximise the collection of debt and ensure remedial solutions are provided to ensure debtor days are reduced in line with targets. Focus on reducing the 60+ day debt ensuring cash collected targets are also achieved.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Debt management and collection of customer accounts
Responsible for own section of ledger
Achievement of agreed collection targets
Provide reports on performance of accounts
To control and monitor the daily debt
Monitor cash allocation and propose corrective action on allocated accounts where needed
To ensure correct procedures and processes are in place as per credit policy established to chase payments from customers on a regular basis
To escalate serious issues to Team Leader or the Credit Manager
To ensure all daily task are achieved i.e. unallocated cash, taking accounts off dispute, chase customers when promise to pay date fails to result in payment
Ensure that your customers are your first priority and excellent customer service is always delivered
Manage a high-level workload and pick up any ad hoc projects to support the department
Ensure that all Business Operational Manager queries are resolved within agreed timeframes
Ensure all Client queries are resolved within agreed timeframes
Other general administrative duties associated within the Finance Shared Service Centre
To develop effective regular communication links with stakeholders
Accountable for delivering against own role description
To take ownership of targets and objectives

Essential Job Requirements:

Previous experience working in a collection's environment
ICM qualification would be an advantage
Two years of experience working within this function
Passion for initiating and facilitating continuous improvement
Deliver to strict guidelines and to tight deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employees' files
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy whilst meeting deadlines
Understanding of audit controls
Excellent IT skills including Word/Excel inc Pivot Tables
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
Good spoken & written communication skills
Good organisational skills
Show passion with a 'can do' attitude
