CNC Machine Operative

Are you looking for a part time weekend shift? If so, we are now looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operative (computer numeric controlled) to join our team in Pontypool, NP44 0JJ.

You will receive an amazing pay rate offering up to £20.61p/h (depending on experience and inclusive of shift premium)

Day to day life as an CNC Machine Operative:

Ensuring machines are set up efficiently for production and/or product run minimising downtime 1st off checks are completed
Carry out setting requirements and change overs for various machining cells including tooling, fixture changes and ensuring raw material availability for run
Operate CNC milling machines and provide support to others when not setting
Responsible for monitoring product quality via visual inspection and/or via gauge measurement
Monitor and record production output vs target and record any downtime and rejects
Carry out daily machining checks
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment at all times
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and machine availabilityAs a CNC Machine Operative, you will be working both Saturday and Sunday from 06:00am until 18:00pm

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

Previous experience in setting CNC milling machines is essential
Knowledge of CNC metal cutting and boring
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
Ability to problem solve any technical issues arising in the machining cell
Previous experience in a manufacturing/automotive industry
Experience in working in a medium/high volume production environment
Understanding of quality systems and completing quality checks/gauging
Attention to detail is essential
Able to work with minimal supervisionIt is anticipated that the assignment will last for at least six months, but could be longer.

Public Transport is extremely limited, due to the location of the site, it's important you have your own transport or that you have arranged transport before applying for this role
