Residential House Manager

Salary Range: £22,619.83 - £26,281.48 with occasional sleep-ins paid extra £78.48

plus a market supplement of £1,200.00 per year (pro rata)

The Residential House Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supervising the team across a number of residential houses. They will also ensure that the team are appropriately trained and supported, and will be expected to ensure the effective operation of the residential provision, including fulfilling all CQC requirements.

No prior experience of education is required but the successful candidate must be willing to promote the ethos of Ruskin Mill Trust, and aid Freeman College in delivering a 24-hour curriculum based on the Trust’s Practical Skills Therapeutic Education method.

We are looking for a candidate with managerial experience in care, particularly in supporting young people who display challenging behaviour. The post holder will not be the registered manager for the provision. Prospective candidates will hold a miniumn of a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, looking to develop their career.

Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • substantial care experience
  • a patient, caring, compassionate and child-centred approach
  • excellent observation skills and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our children and young people to reimagine their potential
  • emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in challenging situations
  • the willingness to work according to a flexible rota (including weekends and bank holidays)
