Environmental Enforcement Officer

To work alongside police, fire or statutory parties preventing crime and disorder such as:

Antisocial Behaviour
Nuisance
Environmental issues
Other offencesThings you could be dealing with on a daily basis are flytips - large groups causing asb in parks - fly tips - liaising with businesses about waste issues or even just a point for contact for businesses - visible patrols in parks - dealing with scramblers - dogs out of control - littering - mispers working with other colleagues across the council - producing evidence for court cases - attending court - attending professionals meetings.

Experience of issuing cpns - cpws - asb warnings - fixed penalty notices for waste issues

Experience of dealing with anti social behaviour and being able to problem solve

You will be required to carry out duties of an enforcement officer. Patrolling on foot or cycling to and from locations.

Overall you will be supervised by a senior enforcement officer but you will be reporting to an area manager,

Required to work outside of normal hours, weekend, evenings, night shifts, public holidays and early mornings.

Driving is Desirable but not essential. those who wish to drive will need a clean and valid B driving licence.

Enhanced DBS will be required.

Qualifications:

you must be in possession of a current and valid Community Safety Accreditation Scheme certificate or you will need to undertake the CSAS security check prior to starting and pass the CSAS within the first 6 months of employment.

Required:

To patrol on foot or cycle
To work in all weather conditions
Wear council supplied uniform
Adhere to all council policy's
Lone working may take place on your shift
Take part in training on equipment or new devices
Handle sensitive data
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
Work 5 over the 7 days on a rotating shift pattern
Flexible on working hours and shifts

You will need to be aware of the council's responsibility's under the Data Protection Act 1984.

Any breech of council's data bases may result in disciplinary investigation .

Demonstrate flexible approach.

Deal with safe guarding issues that may arise in line with the councils policy's and procedures.
