Job Details

NPI Purchasing Coordinator required on a contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Do you have a background strategically coordinating procurement and purchasing activities as part of a wider project team? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced R&D / Engineering / Manufacturing NPI environment? If you are seeking an exciting technical challenge then this is the role for you!

Key responsibilities:

Co-ordinating the procurement status, actions and communication of a detailed and exciting project at our Stafford manufacturing facility.
Your role will involve reviewing, updating and managing tasks to ensure accurate status and responsiveness to the dynamic nature of a large product development programme.
Linking to cross functional teams and engaging suppliers to understand and react to the status on behalf of the procurement team you will be required to prepare and communicate to leaders within the business.
Using buyer experience you will provide purchasing support and solutions to the onsite team to deliver the project timing and business metrics linked to the project.
The role will demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.Experience required:

Experienced as a Buyer in Purchasing in a similar environment.
Experience in coordination of Purchasing activity to support a large NPI programme. This involves working with the Buyers and acting as the interface for Purchasing on the NPI team
Engine component purchasing experience highly advantageous
Purchasing for manufacturing essential - candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Must be capable of working under own direction and representing Purchasing in internal and external facing meetings
Must be capable of preparing update reports and presenting these to different levels of the business. This involves being capable with excel and powerpoint
Previous experience of managing global suppliers.
Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management would be an advantage.
Lean Manufacturing knowledge and examples of application in prior roles would also be beneficial.
