Company Profile:

Cosma Casting UK is an operating unit of Magna International, one of the world's premier global
automotive suppliers. Magna's pioneering technology and creativity allows our customers to ask
for solutions that lie beyond what they previously thought was possible.
Cosma Casting UK are establishing a manufacturing facility in Telford in the UK. For this new
venture, we are looking for a Team Leader. Cosma Casting UK will specialise in high pressure die-
casting that designs and builds medium to large aluminium die-cast automotive components.

Hours:

- 3 shift rotation 6:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 and 22:00 - 6:00

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for working with the suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
to lead and facilitate quality improvements and resolving issues that lead to the achievement of successful
PPAP. The position will report into Senior AQE and then transition into Plant Quality team during launch
phase.

Responsibilities:

- Support PPAP and launch of all programs, engineering changes & GP12 Activities (Safe Launch
Process)
- Carry out Capability studies and gauge validation (Measurement System Analysis)
- Review component drawings and understand the application requirements for each component
with dimensional studies on finished goods with road maps as required
- Effective launch from NPI into production
- CPMP and Business Protocol Adherence - documents to be completed as per program
milestones and evidence provided for files
- Carry out updates to Process Documentation - Standardised Work Instructions, Process Quality
Records, Quality Alerts etc.
- Perform supplier visitations/audits as deemed necessary
- Analyse, troubleshoot and follow up on internal and customer quality issues
- Meet all commitments - confront and elevate issues in a timely manner
- Provide technical and administrative support as needed
- Implement strategies to support lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as required

Personal Attributes:

- Results driven with strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Able to work in a faced paced team environment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good presentation skills
- Self-motivated, able to initiate and follow tasks through to completion

Experience:

- Experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment preferred
- Understanding of manufacturing engineering with respect to one or more of these areas: die
casting, metal forming, automated assembly, mechanisms, tooling fixtures and gauges.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar production systems
- Understanding of Core Quality Tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and PPAP), Control
plans/Process Flows, Root Cause Analysis/Practical Problem solving
- Proficient in and learning the Business Operating Systems (IATF 16949)
- Process knowledge (die castings, HT, CNC, Assembly operations)
