Our client are a leading supplier of products to the food industry
We are recruting an Assistant Production Supervisor who will take a lead role in the production process, from intake of raw materials through to production and processing, ensuring the produciton line is running smoothly.
Suitable candidates will need experience within a food production environment along with supervisory experience.
2 rotating shifts Monday to Friday (9am - 5.30pm / 5pm - 1.30am)
The Role
Responsible for the production process from the intake of raw material through the primary production stage for the processing of the fat
Ensure machines run at optimum efficiency while maintaining high standards
Be aware of the variances in raw materials and how this may affect the ability to process the fat and protein
Take responsibility for the quality of the finished product by monitoring the weight and quality of the raw material
Aware of all scheduled cleaning and preventative maintenance aspects for all equipment within the intake and primary production areas
Carry out checks to ensure the quality and consistency of oil and protein production in line with production requirements
Ensure corrective action is taken immediately when product falls out of specification within the intake or primary production area
Maintain all documentation required for tracking production, quality, cleaning, hygiene and equipment (paper and computer files)
Participate in mincer re-builds, separator and tri-canter services
Promote health and safety in the work place and record any accidents and near misses as per our policy
Work to the principles of LEAN manufacturing;
Complete shift reports and communicate accordingly;
Work closely with the quality team to ensure that all standards in relation to audits are met
What we are looking for
Minimum of 1 years' supervisory experience in a food production environment
Experience running a production line
Record keeping and attention to detail
Valid counter balance forklift license
Awareness of health & safety
Prefrable to have IOSHH and knowledge of HACCP
