An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the Governance team as Head of Governance for an expanding client.
The successful candidate will be required to have in-depth knowledge of Governance and Health and Safety systems and processes.
You will be an experienced Governance Manager who is now ready to move into the Head of role, or already a Governance lead looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate will lead a team of staff dedicated to the delivery of the seven pillars of Governance across the Group. This is a new role which you can help shape and, working closely with the Chief Nurse, ensure patient quality and safety is at the forefront of our vision.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible to the Chief Nurse for all aspects of clinical and operational governance across the Group
The post holder will work in close partnership with managers, staff and other health and social care professionals to facilitate the delivery of a high quality, patient centred, safe and effective service.
The post holder will lead on quality improvement initiatives, implementing quality, safety and risk work streams across the organisation, including the embedding of quality improvement and clinical effectiveness at all levels of the organisation.
The post holder will lead and manage the governance team in the delivery of work plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the organisation.
The post holder will be expected to be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) rota which will require the post holder to work some weekends and evenings on a rota basis coupled with an element of telephone on call. The post holder may be required to attend meetings both within the physical boundaries of services provided by Devon Doctors Group as well as representing the organisation at national forums.
