Adecco are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer for our well established client in Cramlington. These roles are Temporary with a pay rate of £12.30 p/h

You will be covering day shift (08:00 - 16:00 ) until trained and will the revert to a 2 shift pattern of 06:00 - 14:00/14:00 - 22:00)

The candidate will be responsible to carry out the day to day maintenance and repair activities and other applicable responsibilities concerning the facility and manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Engineering or technical degree, and/or equivalent experience and demonstrated capabilities in facility maintenance. The role will have requirements for some electrical installations so the applicant must be able to demonstrate they are competent to carry out electrical installations and inspect their own work.

Must have a good working understanding of facility maintenance. Preferred understanding of GMP and other related regulatory engineering standards.

Role tasks

Management of day-to-day maintenance of facilities, plant and equipment. Ensuring, where possible, no lost production time due to breakdowns or malfunctions. Managing tasks within Maximo and in assuring preventive maintenance work orders are completed on time and properly documented

Responsibility for organising out of hours work, where required, to complete planned preventative maintenance, requested maintenance and improvement activities.

Responsibility for ensuring spare parts stocks are kept within the allowed limits, ensuring the department maintains enough spare parts to adequately cover breakdowns which could potentially interrupt production.

Perform planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the computerised maintenance management system.

Participate in the implementation of key engineering projects on site, including facility modification, in collaboration with the other members of the engineering team and under the direction of the Engineering Manager

Effective communication with other departments regarding changes to the facility or equipment. Coordinate with departments where shutdown work is required to complete PPM works

Ability to implement safe systems of work for both planned maintenance and reactive maintenance covering work carried out by employees on site and external contractors.

Management of external contractors on site, including but not limited to; pre-work instructions, post completion meetings/checking of work, safety documentation requests and reviews, inductions to site, creating permits to work, performing in-progress inspections and keeping a record (through the CMMS system) off all maintenance work carried out across the site.

Ability to work both proactively and re-actively to complete maintenance in a timely and safely manner

Responsibility to ensure all work carried out complies with all relevant regulatory requirements including cGMP.

Act as first responders for all facility and process downtime issues. React to out of hours call outs as required to ensure minimum business downtime

Ability to solve problems logically, critically, quickly and effectively whilst incorporating 'root cause analysis' as a preventative measure to avoid repeat occurrences where the facility fabric or critical kit (plant and equipment) has failed. Effective communication skills will be required relating to the implications of failures and timescales to rectify in addition to down-time and cost-benefit analysis

Suitable Candidates must have the following:

Demonstrated capabilities in the use of facility engineering methods, tools, and capabilities.
Experience with facility design and construction, operation, project management, and maintenance
Experience with facility utilities, systems (Water, HVAC, Steam, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
Engineering or Technical degree or 5-10 years of facility engineering experience
Demonstrated communication, organisation, project management and writing skills.
