Adecco are currently recruiting for a Principal Transport Projects Officer for a West London local authority.
Principal Transport Projects Officer
Remote working
Public Sector - Local Authority
Full time - 36 hours per week
Temporary role - 3 months (possible extension)
£24.95 per hour PAYE / £32.30 per hour UMBRELLA
As Principal Transport Projects Officer you will have responsibility for developing, managing and implementing the Council's transport strategy; developing strategic transport policies; working with colleagues to ensure that the aims and objectives of the transport strategy are embedded in other council strategies and policies: liaising with external organisations such as TfL, WestTrans, and neighbouring boroughs to ensure that strategic transport projects benefit the borough; and managing a team leading on behaviour change and delivering projects to promote this.
You are an experienced project and people manager, able to work quickly and efficiently across a portfolio of projects with minimal supervision. You will have excellent knowledge of the transport planning and policy context that exists in London and best practice in delivering transport projects and travel demand management initiatives. You will have experience of delivering business cases for rail infrastructure projects including working with Network Rail and the DfT. You will have experience of working with TfL in managing council LIP allocations. You will have experience of delivering travel demand measures including school travel planning, and will work with our new Green Recovery team to deliver meaningful behaviour change.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To provide a specialist resource within the Section to support the Council's objectives in the following areas:
Transport planning and strategy
Transport projects
Travel planning
Transport Policy and its interface with spatial planning and policy, including any relevant s106/CIL responsibilities
Performance and financial management
To deputise for the Team Leader Transport Planning & Road Safety when required.
Responsible for: Management of 2 x Graduate Transport Projects Officers, Consultants and volunteers as required.
