This is a great opportunity for a Junior Economist to join an established firm in Hatfield. You will be working within a small team, with a wide range of responsibilities and exposure. The role will require a lot of data analysis and financial modelling using Excel, so candidates must be competent with functions such as pivot tables and vlookups. The company offer great benefits and a secure working environment, with some remote working flexibility.

Client Details

The client are a leading business within the Utilities industry and are currently looking to employ a Junior Economist on a permanent basis. They are looking for candidates who ideally have a background working as an Economist within a regulated industry, and are capable of analysing large data sets and reporting their findings.

Description

Provide support to the Senior Regulatory Economist in managing and operating economic models (typically MS Excel worksheets) to analyse regulatory consequences of the company's actual and expected performances
Take responsibility for setting tariffs in compliance with regulatory requirements around charges
Develop and maintain an expert understanding of Economic Regulatory principles within the industry. Use this growing expertise to brief Senior Managers and colleagues on compliance and regulatory performance matters
Provide support in analysing and drafting responses to consultation papers issued by Regulators and advise colleagues across the business on implications for the company
Provide information, analysis and expert advice on Economics Regulatory requirements and advise on how to optimise performance against those requirements Profile

Graduated in Economics or related discipline with post-graduate work experience, ideally within a regulated industry
Excellent user of Microsoft Excel to analyse and manipulate data and build/use economic models to predict performance
Able to communicate effectively both written and in person
Able to work well towards deadlinesJob Offer
