As a Customs and Conformity Leader, you will be in charge of the customs compliance and supporting the Company as the main point of contact for all conformity-related topics. The Customs team is a strategic department in the Supply chain with regular interaction with external and international agents.

Our client, based in SE London is a well established and branded business specialising in sporting equipment and products.

Description

The successful candidate will join my clients operation as a Customs and Conformity Leader and undertake the following responsibilities:

You will be responsible for managing all conformity-related documents to import products into the UK.
You will be responsible for arranging and managing new product testing with local laboratories, arranging required certifications.
You will analyse and monitor product regulations (in collaboration with the legal team and external authorities), and you will create guidelines on product's regulations and communicate them and any changes to the relevant teams.
You will identify and act on certain categories of products that need specific local action plans, including managing potential conformity issues such as product withdrawals, temporary recalls etc.
Liaising with external relevant authorities in order to manage necessary registrations for special categories of products (chemicals, cosmetics, food products, electronics etc).
Working closely with the internal brands for new mandatory product markings / labelling etc.
In compliance with international rules, you'll guarantee the import of finished products, ensuring the process is cost-effective and efficient.
You take decisive action with the organisation of the flows of your activity. You guarantee compliance with local customs regulations.
You will ensure the prioritisation of flows and you are the privileged interlocutor of local customs administrations.Profile
