Quest Employment are looking to hire an experienced Transport Coordinator to join a large and well known organisation based in Corby on a permanant basis. We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual who works well within a team and is comfortable undertaking duties with minimal supervision also. If successful, the candidate will be joining a small, but growing and successful transport planning team and customer support.
Your hours of work would be - Monday to Thursday - 8am-5pm
Friday 8am-4.30pm
Basic salary of £25K-£28K dependant on experience
Your main responsibilities will be but not limited to -
- Coordinating daily transports, including export and import vehicles (of machines and irrigation spares)
- Liaise with all line managers regarding all transport planning
- Be the point of contact for our customers and suppliers
- Be confident in handling calls and emails from supplier and customers alike
- Log, check and resolve queries with Transport quotes and bookings
- Create and maintain operational task planners
- Communicate issues, resolutions and updates to the line manager
- Proven knowledge of transport and logistics operations in the UK and Europe
- Proactively provide information on loads and transport details
- Take the initiative to propose improvements to processes and performance
- Maintain secure electronic and manual filing systems that allows for efficient retrievel and review
- Manage and maintain any transport spreadsheets, logs, orders on sage as required
- Plan vehicle load combinations to maximise efficiency
- Responding to cleint requests for quotes and booking transport as and when required
- Deal with customer order/delivery queries, from enquiry to final solution
- Process claims, Returns and Damaged
- Resolve ad hoc customer issues quickly and efficiently
- Liaise with all other departments as required
- Other general administrative tasks and duties that may arrive
The ideal candidate must -
- Possess strong Outlook and Excel skills alongside working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to present and articulate verbally and written information to customers and transport suppliers.
- Transport experience & knowledge is essential
- Import/Export documentation knowlegde is essential
- Be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks efficiently
- Be calm under pressure of deadlines to ensure accuracy is not lost in favour of speed
- Confident in dealing with internal and expternal customers in a polite a professional manner, and be confident in dealing with difficult situations
- Confident in completing import and export shipping paperwork
- Ability to be reactive and proactive when planning load combinations changes
- Discuss load combinations and loading sequences with the loading team
- Confident in explaining securing loads to hauliers
