Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Hours: Monday - Thursday / 08.30-17.00 (29.5 hours p/w)
Interaction Recruitment are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant on a temporary assignment. This role is for an immediate start & expected to run until Friday 18th June 2021.
You will be responsible for providing support to learners with learning difficulties in all aspects of the curriculum (this could be with small groups of learners or 1:1), provide overall care of the learner & enable them to access all facilities alongside develop their independence within the community.
Mains Duties could include:
- Attend regular meetings to provide information for review & evaluation purposes.
- Develop the independent living skills of the learner & monitor the ILP’s of the learners with the tutor.
- Maintain and update resources available to support learning.
- Assist tutors withadministrative duties related to the additional support of the learner.
- Provide assistance at functions (Open days and Inductions)
- Provide personal care & administer medications to students as required (following appropriate training) This may require some physical support dependent on the learners needs.
You may also be required to undertake any other duties of a similar nature and responsibility assigned by the line manager
All employees are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with the policies and procedures of the employer.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Learner Support Certificate (Level 2) or equivalent
Maths and English (Level 2)
Working knowledge of Learner Support post 16 & experience of providing support to individuals with learning difficulties in an Educational or Care setting
