An opportunity to join a small but well-established accountancy practice, based in the centre of Gloucester. This is an exciting time to join as this client move to grow their client base, which in turn will allow the team to evolve and expand.
Whilst we are initially looking for someone on a FTC basis of 12 months; there may be an opportunity for a permanent position, once this period has passed.
Your Role
The main responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant, will include:
Bookkeeping and Trial Balance Reconciliation
Checking and Submitting VAT Returns
Management Accounts and Client Liaison
Self-Assessment Tax Returns
Corporate Year-End Accounts
Essential Qualifications and Experience
In order to be successful in your application, you must have the following:
A minimum of AAT Level 3 OR be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
At least 3 years experience within a similar role - ideally within a small practice
Experience in Xero and QuickBooks
Essential Characteristics
Experience aside, you need to also be able to:
Meet strict deadlines
Work within a team, as well as independently
Communicate effectively
Work well under pressure
Have an organised and methodical approach to allocated tasks
Use Microsoft Office and other IT systems effectively
