SHIFT TEAM LEADER

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our team based in the beautiful Derbyshire Countryside.  This is a busy but rewarding role working in a busy and complex manufacturing environment.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of our Knitting Team including absence management
• To ensure that the highest possible quality results.
• To supervise the knitting work flow in line with the agreed plan to ensure it is achieved
• To manage work rosters to ensure absences are covered
• To train and develop knitting employees across the different knitting machinery to ensure flexibility
• To ensure preventative maintenance routines are carried out and any machine problems highlighted to the Knitting Manager
• To monitor performance and highlight any issues to the Knitting Manager.
• Responsibility for ensuring effective housekeeping of knitting areas
• To review relevant risk assessments for the Knitting areas in agreed timescales
• To ensure compliance with health and safety and other company policies
• To review SOPs with the Knitting team to ensure they are up to date and effective
• To continuously improve knitting operations
• To liaise with other internal departments as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Proven supervisory experience and relevant supervisory training/qualification
• Textile industry knowledge an advantage but not essential.
• Intermediate skill with Excel and other Microsoft related products.

• Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work as a team and have a flexible approach to their work.
