Design Engineer

Design Engineer required on a contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of engine components and systems. You will be working on a multitude of projects to develop designs that meet the both regulatory and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

Provide design assistance for engineering assignments including products, parts, components, or portions of major projects.
Sketch outline designs and use computer-aided design for detailed design, generating parts lists and specifications
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas
Consult with the marketing department about upgrading the product, failures in service and reducing the cost
Consult with the development engineers about new products and the application of novel technology
Consider various factors of engineering drawings or diagrams, including use of the product, its environment, materials, the economics of production, safety, legal requirements, quality, production requirements, cost and ease of maintenanceExperience required:

University degree in engineering or proven design experience required
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability
Team player and detail oriented
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
