Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

Our client is a leading 3rd party logistics and supply chain solutions provider in the UK and Ireland.With over 17,000 colleagues across more than 200 sites and a 3,400 strong fleet of vehicles, they put their customers at the heart of everything they do.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join their established Capacity Planning team as a Planning Analyst at their established site in Lichfield.

Responsibilities;

Provide cover for Planning and Capacity Manager as and when required, be able to
manage upwards and lead the team.
Work with the customer to obtain accurate data to allow planning to be as seamless as possible.
Provide training and development to the site team where required.
Monthly analyst catch ups where travel between DC's may be required.
Layout support - Analysis of dashboards/statistics whilst being able to share analysis in simplistic formats.
Daily/Weekly feedback to the Planning Manager and team through meetings.
Gain an understanding of the Matflo warehouse management system and the background databases (tables, fields etc.)
Develop a deep understanding of how the DC network and operations work and why.
Build and own site capacity / forecast models (Inbound/Storage/Outbound) using a variety of data from various sources.
Convert forecasted outputs into detailed operational plans.
Detailed analysis of forecasts, site stock holding and health, future throughput
requirements.
Running of and maintenance of various reports, site and area specific, performing data analysis, trend spotting and feedback/findings to the teams.
Providing plan versus actual (PVA) analysis.
New Catalogue cycle modelling and site impact working closely with the differing departments on site.
Initiate and support continuous improvements across departments.
Prepare PowerPoints for the various meetings based around what has happened through the period and what the forward view shows for capacity with data/explanations (Inbound/Storage/Outbound)

Skills and Experience;

Using different tools to extract and analyse data (especially SQL, Excel and Matflo), Root cause analysis, Process improvement, Project management;
Strong communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written with excellent presentation skills;
Logistics / supply chain / analyst and planning experience is essential;
Strong numerical and analytical skills;
Strong degree of PC literacy, with an emphasis on accuracy and an extensive knowledge of spreadsheets / MS Excel is essential, along with proven competency dealing with Macros, SQL and databases;
Good knowledge of structured problem-solving tools and methodologies;
