Shipping Coordinator (Export)

Adecco's client is looking for a new member to join their export team to ensure that export orders are handled in an accurate and timely manner and to ensure that goods are shipped to the satisfaction of the customer in the most cost-effective manner. This role will offer an excellent opportunity within the manufacturing and distribution industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Checking outbound shipments for readiness and accuracy, assisting to resolve any discrepancies that may arise.
Developing and maintaining relationships with freight suppliers, negotiating effectively with them in order to ensure competitive rates and consistently high levels of performance.
Booking shipments with freight forwarders and making necessary arrangements to have cargo delivered to required point.
Communicating with customers regarding shipment status prior to and whilst goods are in transit and to resolve any problems that may develop.
Ensuring that all documentation required for non-Letter of Credit shipments is produced accurately and on time, enabling the consignees to clear and take possession of the cargo without delays, resulting in prompt payment.
Ensuring that all orders which are conducted on a Letter of Credit basis meet the terms of the Credit. This includes review of the LC to ensure the terms can be complied with and meet standard company policy; negotiation with the Customer or Agent if it should fail to do so; accurate preparation of the appropriate documentation to meet the terms and direct negotiations with the Banks to resolve any issues.
Responding effectively to customer queries/complaints and resolve them in a timely manner in order to maintain the positive image of the company
Liaising with the companies' worldwide offices.

Experience of liaising with multiple suppliers and sales support
Ability to work with little supervision and use their initiative
Outgoing and confident
Strong work ethic

Desirable

Experience of working in the manufacturing industry

Working Hours:

8.30am - 5.00pm Monday - Thursday

8.30 am - 4.30 pm Friday
