Job Overview

Wild are working with a growing London based company to recruit Residential Support Workers (Young Adults) for their sites based in Guildford.

You will be joining a business dedicated to providing young people the best start in life and share the company's commitment to providing the highest quality support.

All candidates must hold a minimum :

Level 2 Diploma in the children and young people workforce
Diploma in health & social care (or the equivalent).

Hours:

Shifts will be 12 hours (08:00 - 20:00 / 20:00 - 08:00) and you will work a 40 hour week. Shifts patterns will alternate and you must be able to work weekends.

Residential Support Workers (Young Adults) - Role responsibilities include:

Provide a warm welcome to all new young people moving into the home and introduce them to the key worker and other young people at the home
Provide daily reports, complete relevant incident forms, daily health and safety checks and provide handovers
Offer emotional and practical support to young people in their daily lives
Compile and work through comprehensive individual risk assessments to support young people and identify and manage any potential risks
Form trustworthy, caring and professional relationships with each individual young person
Assist with the completion of actions required in the young person's support plan including helping them claim benefits, finding employment or education and booking dentist, GP and optician appointments
Support young people in making asylum claims, meeting with solicitors and gain access to a national insurance number
Ensure all work undertaken is of the highest quality, in line with GDPR regulations and completed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures
Ensure the accommodation is always clean and tidy
Ensure health and safety requirements are observed at all times
Hold regular planned key work sessions with young people and encourage and support their participation
Work independently in the unit and cover other units if required and appropriate to do so

Qualifications:

Essential - Level 2 Diploma in the children and young people workforce or Level 3 Diploma in health & social care or equivalent qualification.
If you only hold the equivalent of Level 2 you will be required to work towards a Level 3 qualification with training and support provided
Desired - Level 3 Diploma in the children and young people workforce or Level 3 Diploma in health & social care, or equivalent qualification
Safeguarding level 1- 2 Desired but not essential (Safeguarding training will be provided at induction)
