HALIFAX
£20,000 - £22,000
Are you looking to progress into a materials planner position, my manufacturing client is very keen to invest in training and development for the right candidates so please read on.....
My client, a niche manufacturing business, is looking to appoint a Materials Planner/Stock Controller for their site based in Halifax. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will join a team of 5, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials scheduling for 90-100 orders a day, stock levels including forecasting materials and packaging requirements against planned production.
The role will be split between the warehouse and office, with Production Scheduling and Goods in as the main priorities.
Production Scheduling will include:
Ensuring incoming orders and specifications are allocated to the correct stock items. Checking that all stock is being utilised, calculating off cut availability to minimise wastage. This will include using your own initiative to ensure you are making cost effective decisions for the company.
Goods in duties will include:
Booking incoming stock on to the system and ensuring materials are put into the correct warehouse area, this will include manual lifting.
You will also liaise with suppliers and other departments to request additional stock and make regular stock checks and inspections.
We are looking for a methodical, hands-on candidate.
Experience using a computerised stock system is essential for this role, with SAP experience highly desirable.
If you are from a logistics, goods in or stores environment then we`d like to hear from you!
Manual handling will form part of this role so candidates must be physically capable to lift heavy items.
In return our client offers:
A Salary of £19,000 - £22,000
Working hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday.
Free onsite parking.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain, influence and develop relationships is a key requirement for this role.
You liaise both internally and externally to manage stock levels ensuring materials and packaging are available on time and in full against planned production.
So if you have materials planning experience within manufacturing or engineering, a hands on, flexible and adaptable approach with a positive attitude. Then I would love to hear from you.
The salary offered for this position is £20,000 - £22,000 free onsite parking, a great pension scheme, flexible hours (37.5) and great additional benefits.
