Part Time HR Manager
2 to 3 days per week with flexibility on hours

Precision Investment Castings Ltd (PIC) is proud to be one of the longest serving manufacturers of investment castings in Europe with over 70 years of expertise.  PIC specialise in high integrity castings in both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous materials supplied from a single UK base to a diverse range of sectors; Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Marine, Medical, Oil and Gas & Railways.  We are now looking to appoint an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our Management team. The successful candidate will manage the Human Resources function in its entirety, for both business entities (Precision Investment Castings and Turbotech Precision Products), ensuring that both companies comply with all relevant Employment law and legislation.  

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide robust and responsive HR guidance and support on all people matters.
  • To analyse trends and metrics within the business and report on absenteeism, starters, leavers.
  • To develop and communicate HR policy & procedures across the business and ensure best practice across the business
  • To manage all aspects of recruitment and selection, including job adverts and interviews via direct advertisement and/or recruitment agencies.
  • To keep abreast of Employment Law & HR Legislation ensuring best practice. 
  • To resolve complex employee relations issues with the assistance of Make UK when required.
  • To manage monthly payroll process, completing a payroll tracker, processing new joiners and leavers.  To support weekly payroll when required.
  • To update the company Time & Attendance System with furlough data, and sickness absence.
  • To work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, building morale and increase productivity and retention of staff.
  • To create all documentation in relation to new joiners, and to carry out their HR Induction.
  • To review and update Employee Handbook when required
  • To coach managers in absence management, ensuring return to work interviews are completed and medical reports where appropriate.
  • To attend monthly managers meeting and produce HR Management information

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years proven work experience as HR Manager/ Officer
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Analytical and goal oriented
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law and its application
  • Change management experience
  • Formal Qualification in Human Resources [ CIPD Level 5 and above]
  • IT Literate (MS Office) Payroll Software (SAGE)

 

This is a permanent position, offering 2 – 3 days per week with flexibility on hours.  Salary is dependent on experience, and we offer 25 days holidays plus bank holidays (pro-rated) generous contributory company pension and life assurance scheme.
