Organisational responsibility:

You’ll provide predictable, reliable and consistent outcomes to all my clients customers, colleagues and stakeholders in the delivery of your work as a Surveyor. Primarily you’ll be aligned to one of two work streams within the Maintenance function;
1. Voids and Responsive
2. Safety and Compliance

You’ll be delivering a responsive, high quality and caring maintenance service to our customers using customer insight to maximise the customer experience. These properties will be both void and occupied. You’ll be responsible for surveying and managing general repairs and empty property works in partnership with contractors as directed. You’ll inspect the group’s properties to identify and recommend remedies for repair issues by pre-inspecting repairs, post inspecting after the work is complete and ensuring that our empty properties have the appropriate works completed to ensure they are ready to let to new customers. You’ll work across North London but you will have specific responsibility for a portfolio of properties within your area.

Principle responsibilities:

• A proactive and commercially focussed service is provided to customers, achieving our customer satisfaction levels, service standards, KPIs and most importantly delivering on our Customer Promise.
• You will keep the customer experience at the forefront of our minds at all times, acting quickly when things go wrong, taking ownership and accountability to put things right through collaborative working, clear communication and keeping accurate records.
• You will stand by the work we deliver, with the knowledge that we’re prioritising the right tasks, at the right time, for the right reasons – working to the Operational plan.
• You will forge strong and positive relationships with contractors and colleagues across the business, enhancing our reputation for delivering a service that strives to get things ‘right first time’ and understanding how the part we play fits into the wider organisational goals.
• My client won’t accept poor performance in their properties so will regularly carry out audits and post-inspections to make sure they are satisfied with the quality and condition of work, in adherence to legislation and statutory compliance. Then they will quickly address and resolve any work or conditions that have fallen short of our standards.
• Working with others across maintenance and the wider operations directorate to collaborate with key stakeholders ensuring end to end completion of works with strong customer and colleague communication throughout is vital.
• Whilst you’ll work with your manager to agree a primary task focus and a primary working area you’ll be a team player who understands that, from time to time, you may be required to travel to meet the requirements of your role and may be deployed to other work streams in line with customer need.

Skills Profile:

• RICS or CIOB accredited Building Surveying degree or similar qualification, or strong equivalent experience built up through your working profession (that can be evidenced)
• The ability to investigate, diagnose and conduct complex property condition and dilapidation surveys, alongside specifying suitable remedial works.
• Experience of working in a Surveyor role or similar technical property maintenance team with current knowledge of building.
• A commercial mind-set, being curious and confident to challenge spend and quality of works, keeping projects and programmes of work to be delivered on time and within budget.
• The ability to keep a level head when things get busy, to organise your work in a way that prioritises the right tasks, at the right time, for the right reasons in accordance with our Customer Promise.
• A commitment to collaboration and communication to support your work stream, the wider Maintenance function and our colleagues and stakeholders to work smarter not harder.
• You’ll keep information on our properties and customers both safe and current,
• Health and Safety of our ourselves and others; put simply this includes taking the time to complete all learning, understanding your role-specific responsibilities, working with reasonable care and taking steps to address and report problems related to Health and Safety.
• Taking a proactive approach to your learning and development in order to be the best you can be. This includes understanding and keeping up to date with all of our relevant policies and processes as well as taking advantage of all the learning opportunities and resources available to you.
• Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion as a top priority at the Group; leading by example in your actions and demonstrating our Brilliant People behaviours.
• Keeping things compliant! You’ll have role-specific and organisational goals but it’s important you take these seriously and keep people and information secure and safe within the scope of doing your bit here at Home Group.

Mandatory Compliance:

• Basic DBS certificate (we can do this for you if you don’t have one)
• Driving Licence with access to own vehicle
• Educated to a degree level or equivalent technical qualification
