We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Analyst and Developer to join our Digital Services and Technology Development Team.  Reporting to the Head of Digital Services and Technology you will work across all areas of the College to review software systems and processes, recommend improvements and implement necessary changes, along with, MIS, software and app development.

Key Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Review current systems and procedures. Identifying where improvements and efficiencies can be implemented
  • Identify college requirements regarding IT systems for data collection and college operations
  • Project lead on developing, testing and the rolling out of management information systems
  • Project lead on the development of software systems to assist staff, students and college operations
  • Create and develop in-house bespoke software packages, apps and websites
  • Oversee and assist software installations
  • Detailed planning to include timescales, costs, resources and responsibilities
  • Project plan presentations to senior management and department teams with regular updates
  • Software training needs analysis of existing workforce
  • Delivery of training and support on software packages
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of success
  • Communication strategy to ensure that all stakeholders are fully aware and involved in implementation of projects
  • Review impact and provide written reports and presentations to key stakeholders on successes and provide future recommendations
  • Offer support on software and MIS packages
  • Be a point of contact for external software providers
  • Develop software packages to empower assistive technologies
  • Development of Sharepoint
  • Work alongside external companies on the development and support with existing software/app packages 

Person Specification:

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in computer science, information systems or software development
  • Strong track record of Project Management
  • SQL, MYSQL and MS Access experience
  • Software, App and website development experience
  • MIS experience
  • SCCM knowledge desirable
  • Sharepoint experience desirable
  • Proven success of working within a similar role
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills with individuals/staff at all levels
  • Highly motivated individual
  • A willingness to adapt and learn new skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workload
  • Experience in of working in a residential care setting or an educational environment would be desirable but not essential
